Privacy Policy At CapitalSouth Bank, our mission is to meet the desires of customers. As financial service professionals entrusted with sensitive financial information, we respect the privacy of our customers and are committed to treating customer information responsibly. We believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. And while information is critical to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is our customers' trust. Thus, the safekeeping of customer information is a priority for CapitalSouth Bank. Information about consumers is accumulated from a variety of sources. Some information is provided to CapitalSouth Bank directly by customers themselves. Other data is developed by the Bank as a function of providing a product or service to a customer. Still other information is obtained from outside sources. We will limit the use and collection of information about our customers to that which is necessary to administer our business, provide superior service, and offer opportunities that we think will be of interest to customers. This means that we will use information to help us identify and mitigate potential risks or loss to the Bank. We will use information to help identify additional products or services which we believe customers might want to know about. We will use this information only in accordance with the principles set out in this Policy. We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. Should you ever believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will investigate your concerns and correct any inaccuracies as quickly as possible. At CapitalSouth Bank, employee access to personally identifiable customer information is limited to those who need the information to maintain your accounts or otherwise meet your needs. Employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and on these Privacy Principles. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non public personal information. It is the Bank's policy not to reveal specific information about our current or former customers' accounts or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties except as permitted or required by law. Personal information may be supplied to a third party in order to 1) complete a customer initiated transaction; 2) if the customer requests it or; 3) the disclosure is required or allowed by law (i.e. exchange of information with reputable reporting agencies, subpoena, or the investigation of fraudulent activity.) We may, however, share information with our affiliates. You have the right to opt out of the disclosure of nonpublic personal information that is NOT taken from our transaction and experience records. When the Bank conducts business with third parties, we require our vendors and suppliers to maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them. The bank may use a software "cookie" when accessing our PC banking product. No "cookie" will contain any information that would enable anyone to contact you via telephone, email or U.S. mail. A "cookie" cannot be read by a web site other than the one that set the "cookie". (You can set your web browser to inform you when "cookies" are set or to prevent "cookies" from being set.) We do not knowingly solicit data from children, and we do not knowingly market to children. We recognize that protecting children's identities and privacy online is important and that the responsibility to do so rests with both the online industry and with parents.
